All students in grades K-5 come to the Technology Lab during their scheduled "specials" time. Tech Lab is in the rotation with Music and P.E., allowing students to have class every third day. All students will spend a portion of their Tech Lab time learning keyboarding skills. Typing Club will be used on a regular basis to develop these skills, along with other web-based keyboarding programs and games. Students will use the remainder of their Tech Lab time to enrich and extend core concepts and themes they are studying in their homeroom class. This is accomplished through project based learning as well as internet-research and exploration. We will be using Google slides, Docs, Sheets and Google Classroom. Students are also given opportunities to strengthen their academic skills through various educational websites and platforms as well as learning how to be good digital citizens. Grades given in computer class are an S for satisfactory and N for needs improvement.
