LANGUAGE ARTS and SOCIAL STUDIES

            Welcome to fourth grade Language Arts and Social Studies!  I am looking forward to a great year.  I am eager to get to know both you and your child, and I hope that we will have many exciting and rewarding experiences throughout this school year. 

          I was raised in Owasso, and I have been married for seventeen years.  My husband is an Owasso policeman, and we have two children.  My daughter, Kara, is fourteen and my son, Kyle, is ten.  They are the light of our lives.  I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  I also have an endorsement in Early Childhood Education.  I have been teaching at Northeast Elementary for the last fourteen years.  I have previously taught pre-K, second, third, and fourth grade.  I have currently been teaching third grade for the last seven years.  I am so excited to be at Hodson and to be your child’s teacher!!            

I believe it takes both parents and teachers working closely together to ensure your child the best possible fourth grade experience.  I value your insight as a parent because no one knows your child better than you do.  I feel it is very important to keep you informed about your child’s education and progress.  Please check their binder each Monday for a weekly newsletter. 

          I will always be available to discuss your child’s progress.  I will be more than happy to talk with you.  If you have any questions or concerns you can call me at 272-8160 or you can e-mail me at [email protected].  E-mailing is the best way to communicate with me since I am able to check it frequently throughout the school day.
