Principal's Message

Dear Hodson Elementary Families and Prospective Families,
 

My name is Dawn Testa and this is my 5th year at Hodson Elementary. I have been the assistant principal for the past four years and will be serving in the role as principal starting this school year. I am so honored and blessed to be able to serve in this capacity and to provide our teachers, students and their families with consistency and familiarity. Hodson Elementary is a special place and I am so lucky to be a part of this amazing school!
 

My educational career started in McAlester, where I taught Pre-K for fifteen years. For the next seven years I served as principal at an early childhood building and Elementary building. My family decided to move to the Tulsa area and I knew I wanted to be a part of a district with high standards and strong community support.  This is when I joined the Owasso Ram team!  Go Rams! My Owasso journey started at Mills Elementary as an Instructional Coach, where I served one year before moving to Hodson.
 

I believe that education provides students an opportunity to grow and learn. Education opens doors for learners that they never dreamed possible. My goal is for every student to be provided a safe place to learn and for them to continue to be lifelong learners! My time in the classroom laid the foundation for my excitement and passion for learning. Seeing the impact it had on my students made me realize I wanted to do more. My leadership journey has given me the opportunity to extend my classroom and lead my schools with a commitment to academic excellence, building character development and fostering a sense of community.

 

As part of my regular routine during the school year, you will find me out and about on campus during morning arrivals, afternoon dismissals and throughout the school day. I look forward to continuing to build the relationships I have already established with the students, staff and families of Hodson Elementary.
